Rojak to Give Aspen’s First Bass Trombone Performance

The Aspen Music Festival is one of the most outstanding music festivals and summer academies in the world today. While this festival has gone on since 1949, not once has there been a bass trombone concerto performance – until now.

On Saturday, August 19th, John Rojak of the American Brass Quintet will perform Daniel Schnyder’s subZERO Concerto for Bass Trombone on a chamber music concert. The American Brass Quintet has held a residency at Aspen since 1970 and are the main coaches for brass chamber groups at the festival.

The performance will include performances of the following pieces:

Conrad Wilson – Outline
Gabriel Fauré – Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor, op. 15
Leoš Janáček – Violin Sonata
