Carol Jantsch to Perform John Williams Tuba Concerto

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Orchestra announced they would be giving a “One Night Only” concert featuring the music of John Williams – conducted by the legendary film composer. Included will be the music of Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and others. While these films are quite “brass heavy,” low brass players will be excited to know that Carol Jantsch, Principal Tuba of the orchestra, will also be performing Williams’ famed Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra along with the film selections.

The concert will be Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in Verizon Hall. According to this article, the conductors and musicians are donating their services to help benefit the Philadelphia Orchestra musicians’ pension fund.
