Tuesdays on the Tube: Gábor Tarkövi and Arutunian

Most likely every aspiring trumpet player has heard (or performed) the Arutunian concerto. And Hopefully that same trumpet player has heard of Gábor Tarkövi, Principal Trumpet of the Berlin Philharmonic. If not, take a listen to this week’s Tuesdays on the Tube performance. His artistry is impeccable with a gorgeous sound, especially throughout the second movement of the standard work.

Jeremy E. Smith is the Founder and Editor of Last Row Music. He received music degrees from Grace College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Ohio State University. Currently, Jeremy is the bass trombonist of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and performs throughout Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Smith is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Jazz Journalists Association.
