Happy 239th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps

On this day in 1775, the Continental Congress approved a resolution to establish two battalion units that would fight for freedom on both land and sea. 239 years later, the United States Marine Corps is one of the strongest and most feared military units in the world. To honor them, here is a video of members of the Trombone Section of  “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band performing Chuck Mandernach’s “The One, The Only.”

Also, go check out the WordPress website of Master Sergeant Chris Clark, trombone section leader of “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band. Chris has written many insights on auditions, specifically for the Texas All-State Auditions, and also offers online lessons. The link to his website is www.virtualtrombonist.com

Happy Birthday, Marines!
