Hogtown Brass Releases New Holiday Album



From Holst to Tormé, something for everyone on this Toronto-inspired album

Toronto, ON, Canada: The critically acclaimed Hogtown Brass Quintet will release their second recording, A Holiday Album, Vol. 1.  It will be available through their independent label on November 1, 2017. A Holiday Album, Vol. 1 includes holiday classics, modern and traditional favourites, and a brand new collaboration with one of Canada’s top jazz vocalists, Alex Samaras, for a breath-taking new arrangement of The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).

A Holiday Album, Vol. 1 follows the successful debut recording from the Hogtown Brass, Introducing. The 2016 release led to a nomination from the Toronto Independent Music Awards (Best Classical or Instrumental), and performances at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Festival by the Bay (Midland, ON), Bobcaygeon Music Festival, and an installation at the Honest Ed’s An Honest Farewell, in partnership with Toronto for Everyone and Collective Arts Brewery.

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy Smith is a trombonist, brass teacher, and blogger. He studied music performance at both Grace College and Carnegie Mellon University, and currently is the bass trombonist for Orchestra Iowa and the Huntington Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, Jeremy started Last Row Music as an online resource of job postings and artist links for brass musicians around the world. When he is not performing or blogging, Jeremy is giving brass lessons to students throughout the country from his home in Centerburg, Ohio.
