Hogtown Brass Releases New Holiday Album

 

HOGTOWN BRASS NEW RELEASE: “A HOLIDAY ALBUM, VOL. 1” 

From Holst to Tormé, something for everyone on this Toronto-inspired album

Toronto, ON, Canada: The critically acclaimed Hogtown Brass Quintet will release their second recording, A Holiday Album, Vol. 1.  It will be available through their independent label on November 1, 2017. A Holiday Album, Vol. 1 includes holiday classics, modern and traditional favourites, and a brand new collaboration with one of Canada’s top jazz vocalists, Alex Samaras, for a breath-taking new arrangement of The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).

A Holiday Album, Vol. 1 follows the successful debut recording from the Hogtown Brass, Introducing. The 2016 release led to a nomination from the Toronto Independent Music Awards (Best Classical or Instrumental), and performances at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Festival by the Bay (Midland, ON), Bobcaygeon Music Festival, and an installation at the Honest Ed’s An Honest Farewell, in partnership with Toronto for Everyone and Collective Arts Brewery.

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy E. Smith is the Founder and Editor of Last Row Music. He received music degrees from Grace College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Ohio State University. Currently, Jeremy is the bass trombonist of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and performs throughout Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Smith is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Jazz Journalists Association.
