Seth Horner to Join Peabody Faculty

Seth Horner, the acting Principal Tuba of the Baltimore Symphony, will be joining the tuba faculty at the Peabody Institute of the John Hopkins University in the Fall of 2017. Horner has been in his role with Baltimore since 2014 and can be heard on their latest recording of Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonies 1 & 2 conducted by Marin Alsop.

Horner studied tuba at the Curtis Institute, University of Oregon, and the Peabody Conservatory. He is also the Principal Tuba of the West Virginia Symphony, and has performed with numerous orchestras around the country. In addition to being a performer, he is currently an Adjunct Instructor at Towson University.

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy E. Smith is the Founder and Editor of Last Row Music. He received music degrees from Grace College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Ohio State University. Currently, Jeremy is the bass trombonist of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and performs throughout Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Smith is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Jazz Journalists Association.
