Tuesdays on the Tube: Empire Brass

unnamed

Even though, I have done a post before featuring the Empire Brass, I believe that another post is necessary just to continue to show the virtuosic playing of this ensemble. Back in the day, theAs this was one of the premiere chamber ensembles at its peak, you will hear the phenomenal tuba playing of Sam Palifian as well as the crispness to sound and pitch from the other members.

Unfortunately, the brass world lost a legend when the founder, Rolf Smedvig, passed away in April of 2015. But please, enjoy this delightful taste of two selections from a live TV broadcast of one of the greatest brass quintets every assembled.
