Tuesdays on the Tube: Pittsburgh Symphony Brass

Today we are going to start a weekly Tuesday posting of Youtube videos of great music. These videos will range from well-known brass soloists and ensembles, to great orchestral classics, to vintage rock that only sounds great on classic vinyl albums.
To start us off, I wanted to highlight a clip of the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass. This group of players are personally special to me in that I have been able to work with each player, whether it was through personal lessons, classes, quintet coachings, or masterclasses. The members in this video from left to right are George Vosburgh (Trumpet), Bill Caballero (Horn), Murray Crewe (Bass Trombone), Craig Knox (Tuba), Peter Sullivan (Trombone), and Neal Berntsen (Trumpet).
To attend Carnegie Mellon University was an extreme honor. To have studied with these musicians, who are at the highest level of brass playing, was a privilege that will be with me forever. Enjoy this video of great brass from the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass…..And go buy their recording of Bach’s The Art of the Fugue!
