Upcoming Trumpet Recording on Vinyl

This past week, I ran across a post from The Virtual Trombonist that caught my interest. Paul Merkelo, Principal Trumpet of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, recently completed a recording project with the orchestra and Kent Nagano that was built around some of the toughest trumpet repertoire out there – Henri Tomasi’s Concerto for Trumpet, Andre Jolivet’s Concerto No. 2, and Alfred Desenclos’ Incantation, Threne, et Danse.

This project is unique because these three compositions were featured in ONE recorded, live performance.  You can read more about his mental and physical preparation here in this inteview.

The best part about this project? Merkelo is putting this recording on VINYL. Check it out here and be sure to place your order for this awesome pressing!
