Yamaha Releases New Artist Model from Boston Symphony Trumpet Section

The release of the Xeno Artist Model “New York” C Trumpet with YM Bell

Yamaha Corporation has announced that they will be adding a new line of trumpets to their popular Xeno Artist series. For the past few years, Yamaha has been working with all four members of the Boston Symphony trumpet section to develop an instrument that fits the needs within their section as well as the acoustics of the great Symphony Hall in Boston. Some of the features for the YTR-9445NYSII-YM will be:

The new YM bell flares more steeply than the YS4 bell, contributing to its exceptionally well-defined pitch center and flexible tone. The bell is the only difference from the YS4 equipped YTR-9445NYSII model, indicated by a “YM” bell type inscription following the model number. The YM bell has a bottom seam that provides optimum balance with the reduced wall thickness, acoustically optimized valve casing and lighter pistons.

This new take on the Yamaha ‘New York’ trumpet is expected to be shipped in March 2017 at a MSRP of $6,315.
