Brian Scarborough Launches Bonetruth Music

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brian Scarborough Launches Bonetruth Music, an Independent Music Publishing  Company

Trombonist, composer, educator, and publisher Brian Scarborough has officially launched Bonetruth Music, an independent music publishing company dedicated to creating thoughtful,  innovative educational resources and original compositions and arrangements for musicians around the world.

Founded in 2026, Bonetruth Music serves as the new home for Scarborough’s growing catalog of publications and as a platform for future works by emerging composers, arrangers, educators, and artists. Established as an extension of Scarborough’s longstanding commitment to music education and creative work, Bonetruth Music is dedicated to developing purposeful, innovative resources that explore both established and new concepts through fresh perspectives. All publications are available worldwide in professionally printed editions and digital PDF formats, with the catalog set to grow through educational publications, original compositions, arrangements, and collaborative projects that inspire musicians of all levels.

The launch coincides with the release of Correlations: Steve Davis’ Improvised Trombone Solos,  a new transcription collection celebrating the artistry of acclaimed jazz trombonist Steve Davis.

This publication features transcriptions of all eleven of Davis’ improvised trombone solos from his 2019 album Correlations. Developed in collaboration with Davis following the success of their first transcription collection based on his 2012 recording Gettin’ It Done, the new publication offers performers, educators, students, and jazz enthusiasts yet another opportunity to study one of today’s leading jazz trombonists.

Deeply rooted in Kansas City’s vibrant music community, Brian Scarborough regularly leads his own jazz groups and performs with a number of ensembles, including the People’s Liberation Big Band of Greater Kansas City and Zen Brass. He has also appeared with the Kansas City Symphony and the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra and has performed in more than sixty musical theatre productions, including the First North American tour of the Tony Award-winning musical  Hadestown.

In addition to his work with Bonetruth Music, Scarborough remains active as a performer, clinician, and educator, presenting workshops and masterclasses at schools, universities, camps,  and festivals throughout the Midwest and abroad. He is a Buffet Crampon Artist and plays  Antoine Courtois trombones.
