When three of the world’s leading trombonists meet on the same stage, a concert experience beyond the ordinary is in store. Together with the Prince’s Music Corps and under the direction of chief conductor Christian Lindberg, an evening filled with virtuoso interaction, humor and musical excellence awaits.
The Prince’s Music Corps forms the musical framework for the concert and demonstrates its versatility through a program that ranges from Strauss’ exuberant operetta universe and Tchaikovsky’s dramatic tones to magnificent operatic interpretations and newly written music. The corps’ sonorous and energetic playing is the supporting element throughout the concert and creates the perfect platform for the international soloists.
The evening’s soloists are trombone legends Christian Lindberg, Ian Bousfield and Joe Alessi. Together they unfold their impressive technique and musical personality in both well-known opera melodies and the spectacular world premiere of Per Egland’s Three Mute Tenors – a work where opera, theatre and commedia dell’arte merge into an entertaining and captivating musical performance.
