Trombocalist Big Band Album Release Party
The Trombocalist Big Band, co-led by trombonists Ron Wilkins and Rebecca Patterson, is having an album release party for their new recording “The Vigil and The Sleeping Giant” on April 19, 2026, at Birdland Jazz Club in New York City. The album featured original compositions by both Rebecca and Ron, including a four-movement suite written by Ron that chronicles his life before, during, and after COVID. He got deathly sick in April 2020 and was in a medically induced coma for 30 days and on a ventilator for 37 days. While going through this, Rebecca was going through the anxiety of being isolated along with the rest of the world. Their compositions reflect their feelings and emotions of the time.
