SUMMARY:Brahms Trio for Piano\, Violin\, and Horn in E-flat Major with Stefan Dohr
DESCRIPTION:TIMOTHY RIDOUT viola\nGUILLAUME BELLOM piano\nBrahms Sonata for viola and piano no. 2 in E flat major op. 120 no. 2 \nRENAUD CAPUÇON violin\nEMANUEL AX piano\nBrahms Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 1 in G major\, Op. 78 \nSTEFAN DOHR horn\nRENAUD CAPUÇON violin\nDENIS KOZHUKHIN piano\nBrahms Trio for piano\, violin and horn in E flat major op. 40 \nBrahms loved to highlight the singular beauty and intimate poetry of the lower registers. Here\, he pays homage to the horn and the viola. The former\, evocative of the legendary forests so dear to the Romantics and imbued with the composer’s deep connection to nature\, has inspired an unusual trio\, inviting the listener to appreciate all the qualities of Stefan Dohr’s playing\, principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic. Timothy Ridout’s viola\, in the composer’s final chamber work\, is an alternative voice to the clarinet. To accompany these preferred timbres\, the piano\, at which Brahms was a virtuoso\, is shared among three exceptional performers. The first sonata of Opus 120 can be discovered in its original version on July 4th. \nEvent Website Link
