The Jazz Trumpet Routine Announces New Book and Course

John Raymond and Jazz Trumpet Routine Team are excited to announce a new book and course – Bebop Vocabulary Building, Vol. 1!

This new jazz trumpet method book takes the most foundational, idiomatic major and minor vocabulary used across the jazz trumpet tradition and creates 150 new exercises out of these ideas. The main theme is this: all jazz trumpet players play the same things; what sets one person apart from another is how they use it. Thus, the book is designed to help players of all ages & ability levels internalize the bebop language and improvise fluently in all keys so that they can sound more like their jazz trumpet heroes.

The accompanying course on the Jazz Trumpet Routine website features over 75 videos, including:

  • Tips for how to use the book
  • Demos of the exercises
  • Additional exercises not found in the book
  • Skills and drills for how to apply the vocabulary to improvisation
  • Notated solos over standards
  • Sample vocab practice routines
  • and more!

And, of course, all JTR subscribers get access to the new book via the course (as well as all six courses and companion books).

Physical and PDF copies are also for sale here.

Get started on the new course today, and happy practicing!
