46 Trombone Studio Websites…and counting!

I have delayed writing a new blog post because I have been building Last Row Music to be a central hub for brass players and vinyl record enthusiasts. I have changed the design of the website a little, and have added MANY resources to the page. Being a trombone player, I started with what I know. If you go to the Links page, you will find categories such as Professors and Educators, Tenor and Bass Trombone, Jazz/Studio Trombone, and College and University Studios, Euphonium, and Tuba. For now, I am building up the low brass portions, and then will expand into the higher brass. You will also find section for Brass Ensembles which branch off into Brass Bands, and Trombone Ensembles.

Since it is the month of October, high school and collegiate students should start to look at colleges to see what they offer. There are so many factors involved in deciding where to attend: the professor, university/department/studio reputation, ensemble participation, etc. Check out this article by Brent Phillips, the Trombone Professor at Baylor University on how to go about Choosing a Trombone Studio.

To help with the decision process, I have created a list of collegiate studios throughout the United States that have websites. DISCLAIMER–I did not include studios that have only a Social Media page; and, I did not include universities that have just a biographical page of the trombone professor. The studio websites below are of studios that give information regarding studio expectations, events, alumnus history, and resources. With technology now becoming a means of promotion and marketing, more and more trombone studios will create websites–hence the “…and counting” portion of the post title. To stay up-to-date with studio website additions, always check back to this link here. If you do not see your studio website on this list, please email me at [email protected]!

I have also created a list of websites that include Trombone Professors and Educators. You can find that link here.
