Crowdfunder for World Premiere Recording of British Trombone Concertos

In late November, three world-class trombonists joined the Orchestra of Opera North in a session to record several trombone compositions by British composer Benjamin Ellin.

Led by Christian Jones, Bass Trombone of Opera North, this recording project will include the world premiere of a concerto for trombone trio and orchestra. With Jones on bass, the trio is rounded out with Joseph Alessi (New York Philharmonic) and Blair Sinclair (Opera North). Both Jones and Alessi have previously performed concertos by Ellin with Alessi, and this recording will feature both the tenor and bass trombone concertos. Below is a snippet of Ellin’s “Windows” for trombone trio and orchestra.

A crowdfunder has been established to allow patrons to contribute to this project and receive various rewards based on contributions. Watch the video below to learn more.
