Abrahamsen Horn Concerto with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra

If you could hear silence, how might it sound? Perhaps a bit like the epic stillness that opens Mahler’s youthful First Symphony. There’s a good reason why Mahler’s First is so beloved, but Mahler knew that music never stands still and Nicholas Collon knows it too. That’s why he’s joined by the great horn player Stefan Dohr to end the season with a captivating new masterpiece from our composer-in-residence Hans Abrahamsen – a sonic poet in a class of his own.
