Former North Texas Professor of Trumpet Dies at 77

Keith Johnson, former Regents Professor of Trumpet at the University of North Texas, died on July 31, 2020, at the age of 77 after a bout with COVID-19. Johnson was a renowned brass pedagogue having authored two well-known books, The Art of Trumpet Playing and Brass Performance and Pedagogy. He was at the helm of UNT’s trumpet studio from 1986 to 2014. – Denton Record-Chronicle
