Horn Opera Project Revamps Website For Better User Experience

Hornist Ericka Tyner Grodrian, Associate Professor of Music at Valparaiso University, started building an online resource of horn opera excerpts as an extension of her doctoral dissertation Horn Opera Excerpts: A Suggested Addition to Current American Pedagogy.

Since then, this project has accumulated a wealth of resources for any hornist needing to “learn the rep.” From clean-looking excerpts to short audio clips plus an archive of repertoire lists from past opera auditions, Horn Opera Project allows fellow hornists to easily navigate the website on any device.

Many composers in this project include Beethoven, Bellini, Bizet, Handel, Humperdinck, Mozart, Puccini, Rossini, Strauss, Verdi, Wagner, and Weber. Be sure to follow the project’s development on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.
