ITF 2020 is Postponed

In the midst of many cancelled, postponed, and rescheduled events throughout the music world, the International Trombone Festival has decided to postpone its 2020 Festival that was to be held in Osaka, Japan. Here is a message from Festival Director Karen Marston posted on the Festival’s Facebook page:

Friends around the world: It is with great disappointment that I must announce the postponement of ITF 2020, originally scheduled to take place July 2-5 in Osaka, Japan. After much deliberation, we have determined that this is the best course of action, in order to ensure the safety of our attendees, staff, presenters, exhibitors, and artists.

Moving forward, we will be working hard to confirm a new date, and information will be posted as it is available. In the meantime, I hope you all remain safe and healthy.

– Karen Marston, Festival Director

As the International Trombone Festival is the largest trombone festival in the world, we look forward to the announcement of the new date for Japan’s festival. In the meantime, plans have already been made for ITF2021 – the 50th anniversary of the Festival – to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, at Vanderbilt University.
