North Texas Hires New Euphonium Professor

Back in February of this year, one of the great euphonium players of our time, David Childs, gave a masterclass and recital at the University of North Texas. Although these kind of visits are common, Childs’ visit had more of a personal purpose. Two months later, it has been announced on 4BarsRest.com, that David Childs will become the new fully-tenured Professor of Euphonium at North Texas starting August of 2018.

Childs will take the place of Brian Bowman, who announced his retirement in September 2017. Bowman, with his illustrious career as a teacher and performer, was the Regent Professor of Euphonium at UNT for 18 years.
