Over 60 Trumpeters Join Together To Record ‘Shine (Instrument of Hope)’

Led by composer/arranger Kim Scharnberg, some of the finest trumpet players in both New York City and Los Angeles gathered in their respective recording studios to produce a new arrangement of ‘Shine’, a song written by Sawyer Garrity & Andrea Peña who are student survivors of the Parkland shooting. Soloists – which included the likes of Arturo Sandoval, Randy Brecker, Wayne Bergeron, Terrell Stafford, and others – performed their improvised solos on the ‘Instrument of Hope,’ a specially-crafted trumpet made “from spent bullet casings to help keep the conversation about gun violence prevention on the main stage.” Broadway Records has now released the single on their website and across digital music platforms. – Broadway World
