On August 11, 2025, Septura announced Helen Vollam as the newest member of the famed London-based brass septet.

Vollam currently serves as Principal Trombone of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and frequently performs with the Bones Apart Trombone Quartet and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Having performed with Septura in a substitute capacity on several occasions, Vollam joins Matthew Gee, Peter Moore, and Dan West to round out the trombone section. In the posted press release, Vollam says:

“I have long admired Septura’s groundbreaking work on the concert platform and on record, and to join the group as a member is a great honour. I regularly work with all of the members in London’s orchestral scene, but to make chamber music with these incredible musicians is something really special. I look forward to many concerts, tours, and recordings over the years to come, as Septura works to create even more unique and compelling musical experiences for audiences around the world.”

Her tenure as a Septura member begins in October 2025, when the brass ensemble tours the USA, performing several concerts across four states.
