The Black Excellence Trombone Choir Debuts With A Powerful Song

As a project organized by Weston Sprott of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, over 25 trombonists individually recorded parts from Michael Dease’s arrangement of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and then submitted the tracks to Jim Nova of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for audio and mixing. With this beautiful and soulful rendition being released on the holiday of Juneteenth, one hopes to hear more from the Black Excellence Trombone Choir in the future.

If you care to donate, join LRM in contributing to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

Here are some words from Weston Sprott:

This musical offering is given to honor all of those who have lost their lives in the struggle to end racial injustice and in support of those who continue fighting to bring us closer to justice. Let us march on till victory is won. #blacklivesmatter #taketwoknees #juneteenth
