Trombone

For Sale: 1970 Conn 62H ‘Elkhart’ TIS Bass Trombone

Update: June 2018 – This horn is no longer for sale.

I am selling my 1970 Conn 62H Bass Trombone. The serial number is Nxxxxx (1970) and was made in Elkhart, Indiana. I have owned this horn since 2011 when I purchased it from my undergraduate school. Since then, it has been my daily workhorse horn and has served me well by helping me win three regional orchestra auditions among other playing opportunities. If you know anything about these Conn bass trombones, they are coveted and rare, especially in good, working condition. I am planning to attend the 2018 American Trombone Workshop (are you attending?) and will have the horn and cases with me if you would be interested in purchasing this vintage instrument.

Why am I selling it?

It’s time for me to move to another bass trombone, and selling this instrument will help fund a new horn. It is really hard for me to part with this vintage horn, but my playing is taking me to other places musically right now, therefore it’s time to explore. My father’s first bass trombone was a 62H, and fortunately, I know the person who owns that horn. If the need ever came up for me to get another one of these, I know who to ask.
