The Trailer For “Never Too Late: The Doc Severinsen Story”

At 92 years young, Doc Severinsen has probably played his trumpet in front of more people than any other brass player. In 1962, Severinsen joined the band for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson which eventually catapulted him to lead the band for the next thirty years. After his tenure on weekly television, Doc took his own band on the road to tour all over the United States. Still to this day, Doc is performing and teaching on a regular basis as well as making visits to the gym 3 days a week.

Now, the legendary story of Doc Severinsen has been placed into a film. Featuring extensive interviews with Doc, Questlove, Chris Botti, Arturo Sandoval, and many others, this film will excite any fan of the flamboyant trumpeter.

Originally scheduled to be viewed at the 2020 Cleveland International Film Festival and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC, this special film has been put on hold for the time being. However, you can view the trailer below for the extraordinary story of how age is just a number. Check back often for more information on when the documentary will be released to the public and follow Doc’s website and social media feed for further updates.
