Jeff Nelsen Returns to Canadian Brass

Jeff Nelsen, Horn Professor at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, is returning as a member of the famed Canadian Brass. Previously a member of the Canadian Brass from 2000-2005 and 2007 to 2010, Nelsen will be replacing Bernhard Scully, who continuing his teaching position at the University of Illinois.

Nelsen, a native Canadian, is one of today’s preeminent horn players having performed with multiple world-class orchestras and star-studded performers. His company, Fearless Performance, is a successful training program that helps students focus and find their maximum potential as performers in today’s music world. Nelsen is one of three horn professors at Indiana teaching alongside Dale Clevenger and Richard Seraphinoff.

Jeremy E. Smith is the Founder and Editor of Last Row Music. He received music degrees from Grace College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Ohio State University. Currently, Jeremy is the bass trombonist of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and performs throughout Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Smith is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Jazz Journalists Association.
