Facebook Groups for Brass Gigs and Festivals

Facebook groups are now being considered the new forums. And while every now and then an opinionated troll likes to make their mark in a group, these new collective discussions can serve to be really beneficial.

I am a member of several Facebook groups (anything from the Bass Trombone Appreciation Societies to Milwaukee Braves Historical Association to Vintage Volkswagen buses to Karl Barth Discussion groups) and have always found it to be rewarding and enlightening. One group that I have found very beneficial is the Trombone Gig and Festival Information Exchange. Simply put it is a facebook group that allows you to post trombone related information about upcoming employment opportunities and festivals. While this has always been a great group of around 1,500 members, I have thought: “Why not create groups for the other brass instruments using the same format?”

So starting today, these new groups for all brass instruments have been formed. These groups are only for posting auditions, gigs, and festival/workshop events, and they will be monitored accordingly.

Click below on your specific instrument (or all of them) and join the group today!
