Listen: Marsalis Tuba Concerto with the Philadelphia Orchestra

WRTI (90.1) out of Philadelphia has posted a recent audio recording featuring Carol Jantsch, Principal Tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra, performing the World Premiere of Wynton Marsalis’ Concerto for Tuba. The recording of the Concerto begins around the “7:45” mark, but I would encourage you to listen to the minutes leading up to the recording for a brief interview with Jantsch and information about the Concerto. Headphones are encouraged.

In addition to Jantsch’s performance on this “Sunday Afternoon Classical” program, Jennifer Montone, Principal Horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra, performs a moving arrangement of Three Songs for Horn and Piano by William Grant Still. at the “40:00” mark.
