Chicago Symphony Trombonist Featured Soloist at Grand Teton Music Festival

On July 30th and 31st, Michael Mulcahy, longtime trombonist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) left the last row to appear in front of the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra for two sold-out performances of Carl Vine’s Five Hallucinations for Trombone and Orchestra.

With a career spanning over 30 years in Chicago, Mulcahy’s summer treks to the Wyoming festival have nearly equaled the same amount of time. This performance with the Festival Orchestra was the fourth time Mulcahy has performed Carl Vine’s work, following performances in California (2018), Australia (2017), and the premiere performance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (2016). As both Grand Teton performances were sold out a few days before the concerts, a public, open rehearsal was added to the schedule.
