On October 2nd, the music world lost one of the most well-known conductors of our time, Sir Neville Marriner. First, a violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Marriner was the founder and director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. In addition to the Academy, Marriner also was the first conductor of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Behind Herbert von Karajan, he was the most recorded conductor of all time, and was a musical advisor for the movie, Amadeus.

As a tribute, here is a video of the R.T.S.I. Orchestra performing Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute conducted by the illustrious Sir Neville Marriner.
