New Album Project Brings Awareness to Political and Social Issues in America

Dr. Austin Seybert is an inspiring American artist and professor, and he has decided to use his art of music to raise social and political awareness in the United States. To achieve this goal, the artist has recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for his upcoming album entitled ‘Untold Stories Vol: 1’.

“I am very excited to announce my album project, which is the first of three projects of the same type and I would love your support to help make this project possible,” said Dr. Austin Seybert, while introducing this project to the Kickstarter community. According to the artist, this album is a collection of eight new pieces for trombone and piano, bass trombone and piano, trombone sextet, trombone quartet, and trombone and bass trombone duo. Works to be recorded include:

  • Jim Stephenson: Appalachian Opioid Epidemic (bass trombone and piano)
  • Catherine McMichael: Extinction of Species (tenor trombone and piano)
  • Brad Edwards: Father and Son Relationships (tenor trombone, piano, and recordings)
  • Barbara York: Child Imprisonment  (tenor trombone and piano)
  • Chris Rochester: Social Justice for Black Men and Women (trombone sextet, percussion)
  • Austin Seybert: In honor of Fred Dietz (trombone sextet)
  • Ben Carrasquillo: Find the Helpers (trombone quartet)
  • Mark Rheaume: Gemini (tenor trombone and bass trombone duo)

In addition, Dr. Austin is currently serving as the Professor of Trombone/Low Brass at Northern Kentucky University and a Trombone Artist for Greenhoe Trombones. Moreover, he has also taken his colleagues on board for the recording of this project, and he is now welcoming the global community to help him in achieving his goal of raising awareness through music.

The Kickstarter Campaign is located on the web, and all funds raised through this Kickstarter campaign will play a major role in the production of this album. Moreover, the goal of this Kickstarter campaign is to raise a sum of $13,500, and the artist is offering a wide range of rewards for the backers with worldwide shipping. Jeremy Smith

Jeremy E. Smith is the Founder and Editor of Last Row Music. He received music degrees from Grace College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Ohio State University. Currently, Jeremy is the bass trombonist of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and performs throughout Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Smith is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Jazz Journalists Association.
