Ohio State Announces Teaching Assistantship for Trombone

The Ohio State University School of Music announces an expected vacancy for a Graduate Teaching Associate in trombone beginning in August 2022. Duties may include teaching the brass methods course, applied teaching, performing in University ensembles, conducting/rehearsing the OSU Trombone Ensemble, and other duties as assigned. Previous GTA’s in this position have gone on to successful careers in symphony orchestras, military bands, and university teaching positions throughout the country.

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy E. Smith is the Founder and Editor of Last Row Music. He received music degrees from Grace College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Ohio State University. Currently, Jeremy is the bass trombonist of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and performs throughout Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Smith is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Jazz Journalists Association.
