Øystein Baadsvik Joins Faculty At Norwegian Academy of Music

On October 10th, the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo announced that Øystein Baadsvik, the world-renowned tuba soloist and pedagogue, has joined their music faculty.

Baadsvik is no stranger to teaching and giving masterclasses. In addition to his illustrious solo career, his teaching methods have seen results across the globe through in-person instruction and virtual seminars from his Online Academy. As he plans to cut back on his touring career, Baadsvik will continue developing his other career of teaching motivated students.

The Norwegian Academy of Music has a wide range of programs and courses that welcome national and international students. With degrees ranging from Bachelor to Master to Doctorate, the Academy has plenty to offer music students who want to develop their skills at a high level within a world-class institution.

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy E. Smith is the Founder and Editor of Last Row Music. He received music degrees from Grace College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Ohio State University. Currently, Jeremy is the bass trombonist of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and performs throughout Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Smith is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Jazz Journalists Association.
