Royal Danish Brass Set To Release New Album

Royal Danish Brass‘s new album Dedicated 2 is self-explanatory due to the fact that both the composer’s and the musician’s dedication are on the highest level of creating the music – and making the music come alive. The album continues the line from Dedicated (2015) of course and two of the composers are represented on both albums namely Fuzzy and Søren Barfoed. Fuzzy is responsible for the album-opener Iron Lips for four trumpets. It’s a pleasant power presentation by the trumpet section of The Royal Danish Orchestra. Virtuoso tonguing technique and smooth cantabile playing. This piece deserves to be a trumpet ensemble classic.

Søren Barfoed’s Tango dedicated to the pianist Ingemar Aronsson, takes the Argentinian dance to a new and different level here performed by 10 brass players and a percussionist. The colourful scoring and playing continues the album throughout ending with a very special piece by Fuzzy again, combining two Bronze-Age lurs with modern electronics in The Sound of Bronze.
