Co-Founder of Annapolis Brass Quintet Dies at 75

On June 10, 2020, Robert Posten, bass trombonist with the Annapolis Brass Quintet, died at the age of 75. In 1971, bass trombonist Robert Posten along with four other brass musicians formed the first full-time brass ensemble. From 1971 to 1993, the Annapolis Brass Quintet traveled across the globe performing a vast array of brass chamber music. Among the group’s many pioneering accomplishments, the Quintet “performed the first brass concert in the Brahms-Saal concert hall in Vienna, Austria.”  – The Baltimore Sun
